Quadrate Software, Loading SAP Data and Feeding Hungry Children Worldwide

MASON, Ohio, Aug. 27, 2009 — Can software feed hungry children? For this company, the answer is yes! Quadrate, a leader in data management software exclusively for the SAP market, has developed a fondness for feeding hungry children from the US to the Middle East and Asia.

Automating manual processes in SAP using Excel or Access is Quadrate’s core strength, but helping children in need of nutrition is its soft spot. The Elegant Fare catering company’s volunteer program for this year’s annual Western and Southern Financial Group Masters and Women’s Open tennis tournament in Mason, OH gave Quadrate the opportunity to be part of a project to do just that.

Elegant Fare provides all the food and food service for the Western and Southern Financial Group Women’s Open and Men’s Masters. Over the course of the tournament, the caterer relies on volunteers to provide over 15,000 hours of work to make the event a success. The non-profit organizations that provide the volunteers are the beneficiaries of over $100,000 in donations.

The number of volunteers and hours required means recruiting, training and coordinating a large group of non-profit organizations. In addition to their cash donation, Quadrate had their Vice President of Sales, Sandy A. Pollitt, put in over 500 hours to act as coordinator for this year’s event.

“Quadrate is a very passionate company,” explained Sandy Pollitt. “It’s refreshing to be part of a team of people that are also interested in the greater good of mankind and not just a greater profit.”

Quadrate’s charity of choice is Manna Worldwide. The organization is committed to addressing nutritional, educational, and spiritual needs of children and their families. This connection to Manna Worldwide comes through a local group of adults who are preparing to move to Kenya. While they are there they will, among other projects, start Manna feeding centers. The group, calling themselves Team Kenya, has raised $40,000 for their mission to help those in need.

Quadrate’s CEO, Philippe Jardin, is from South Africa and has seen the devastation of malnutrition first-hand. “Partnering with Elegant Fare to help them reach their goals allowed Quadrate to help others reach goals of their own. Everyone wins and a lot of families receive proper nutrition as a result.”
